In Florida...but let me catch you up a bit first!

3/30/11
Good morning from Home Depot in Lansing, MI.  We are sitting here waiting for them to unload that load they would not take last night.  I understand it varies from client to client on early deliveries.  It sure makes it easier for me to drop a load off early than to be running behind due to unexpected delays either by client, traffic, truck issues, etc.
I am unsure where the next load will be as Jeff’s week at home is just around the corner and they need to dispatch a load that brings him closer to home, or there will be heck to pay (grabs my Zune for just in case).  So for now, we sit!  Relax, toast a bagel, catch up on your local news, and hug someone!
3/31/11
Help me!  I am drowning in Jeff’s Whine Bottle……..quick, throw me a cork screw and toss in some cheese and crackers as I haven’t had a meal since yesterday at noon!  It is nearly 4 AM and I have been awake since 3 AM as we have an early morning pick up.  I drove from noon yesterday until 8 PM.  I was so tired that I went to bed without dinner but between trying to wind down and Jeff’s temper tantrum; I wasn’t asleep until 10 PM.
I was near my melting point last night and walking to a hotel.  I was up yesterday at 5 AM, on the go until 8 PM, two meals, miles of listening to a man who should retire or DIE, and at $50 per day, you can do the math.  Let me tell you, I can’t wait to go solo and running that Line 2 Sleeper and Line 4 On Duty in the log book to the ground!  There certainly would not be any late night runs as it would be a log violation.  Jeff has been running Line 1 Off Duty for sleeper, fuel stops, loading/unloading, which means you are pretty much working for free and require no sleep.  You see a lot of teams do this so they can run more miles……….driving a garbage truck now sounds like a vacation!
We have a Conway load to pick up which will run us a day longer before I get my week break.  It is requiring some serious hours but as far as Jeff is concerned, he will bitch to high heaven but will do it so he can get home.  They want us to drive 1000 miles in 24 hours, and considering we are not a team, this is going to be a drive from hell.
My concern is the hotel bill being paid.  I had to call to delay my reservation and I wasn’t even on the books.  The last time Jeff used the company credit card for a student to stay there, it was never paid so I will make sure to sneak out on my last day so I don’t have to foot the bill.
Gotta go, Jeff is lost!
IT is 5:30 AM and we are back on the road.  I had a quick tuna and a cheese wrap.  I love those premade meals in a bag……..hope you can’t get cancer from them as they do not require heat!  I am thinking I might last 4 hours before I will to take a nap and then drive.  I need a stiff drink and a chiropractor as my neck and shoulders are on fire.
For those of you who don’t know, I finally lost it!  It was near noon when Jeff got into another screaming match with dispatch and his supervisor.  We were driving down a freeway, short on sleep and hours and I just looked at Jeff and SCREAMED!  And I do mean…..scream!  Not only did I scream that I can’t take it but for him to pull over as I WAS DRIVING!  And as soon as he was finished on the phone, I told him to eat and nap because he wasn’t getting the wheel.  End of discussion!
Dear Jim……hope you are ready for this!  Brian is kicking ass trying to get his hours done and should be done next week (lucky man).  And then there is Mark and Gill…….I hate you!  Getting a CDL for the “what ifs”.  You two don’t know just how lucky you are but I have a feeling, you do.
Royce…….get a job!  Brennan, did you get a job????
AND.......
I am quitting!
APRIL FOOLS ;)
