Gads! Sitting at home when I should be rolling!

Good morning my virtual truckers!  You know, the company has known since Saturday that I would be ready for a load today at 6 AM.  I also told them in my resignation letter yesterday and then I had to tell them again this morning when I started my very cold truck and here we sit........waiting on a load!

I know we won't hit Salt Lake City today as it takes longer than the hours I am permitted to drive.  Depending on how soon we start moving, we should be in Boise for the night and turn the truck/trailer in Salt Lake mid morning tomorrow.  Joy will be waiting for me to bring me home (housemate).  We will take our time getting back to what is suppose to be a beautiful weekend!

Better go shut down the truck and eat some breakfast.  Dang nab it, they won't even let me quit on time!

It is a beautiful day in the forest!

Good morning my virtual truckers!

Well, I did it!  I turned in my letter of resignation this morning due to lack of concern for my safety and for my position as a company driver.  I let this sliver fester too long and it is time to walk away as this could happen again and that is not acceptable.  There is nothing worse than leaving a position stranded with no transportation, your gear all around your feet and your puppy in tow.......talk about feeling helpless!  Choosing to end this position while on home time was the only logical way to go.

I am hopeful to find employment soon either behind a steering wheel or a desk.  The economy is picking up in Seattle and offices are beginning to regroup and rebuild after so many layoffs and closures.  So even if it takes a month or two (great time to get back into running), I think we will do just fine........

Once I turn my truck in, I will write one more blog post.........and that will be the end of Truckabout Reia.  It has been one heck of a ride.......and I am so glad you rode with me!

Much nicer after the yard was mowed......thanks Matt!

My forest!

Happy Birthday Granny Rhonda!
She turns 50 today and was gifted with a grandSON at 6 AM this morning! (Thanks James)
