We got us a long haul!

After that long morning delay in Albuquerque, we picked up a load of cereal that was originally going to be swapped out in Oklahoma City but our luck changed and we were given the OK to take it all the way........to Georgia! It has been awhile since I had a cross country load and due to it being a weekend, the odds of it being pulled from us...........very little!

They are telling me that we are pass due for an oil change but I am not about to stop for that on a weekend.  It can wait until I drop the load or Monday, which ever happens first.

Grab a quick bite to eat as we are heading to some what warmer temps!

Good morning from Albuquerque!

We are sitting at the TA which is just one lot away from the drop yard where that trailer sits waiting for its next driver.  We dropped it at 6:15 this morning and now are waiting for a new load assignment.....for 30 minutes now.  Hopefully it won't be a long morning of waiting as I just finished my coffee and couldn't go back to sleep if I wanted too.

You know, I can't wait to get away from this company.  EVERYONE knows that ;)  But through it all, I have been blessed with decent weather, making the past year so much more tolerable.  No chains, no snow storms or tornadoes.  There were the occasional rain/lightening storms to keep me on my toes but I never had to get wet as the storms always seemed to stop before I picked up or dropped off.  Knock on wood that it continues but reality being what it is, if I do get that job up north, I am going to freeze my butt off!

Now dang nab it, where is my next load?????

Good evening from Mariarty, NW!

And you have found one TIRED driver!  I have been driving since 4:15 this morning........augh

Well, I did drop that load at Sam's Club and you would not believe what their CSR (customer service rep) told them!  I was running late and out of contact!  Dang, talk about throwing the driver under the bus!  The customer asked where I was last night and I told him.......break down.  He stated that he was told that I couldn't be found and that they were calling asking about my ETA, etc.  I told him exactly what happened......and he figured just as much......out of contact my butt!

Anyway, picked up some lawn mowers to take to Oklahoma City and was up at 4 AM this morning to only swap it out with another driver in a day cab (he lives in Oklahoma City) and took his load to where I am now, with the time line of until 11 AM tomorrow in Albuquerque; only 36 miles away.

It is only 6 PM so I plan on sleeping in until 4:30 AM and hit the road at 5:30.

I contacted the company in ND and due to training, they hadn't reviewed my resume.  I will call them tomorrow for an update.  I will not put in for my hometime until I know for sure they don't want me.  It took Marie only two weeks from application to hire so I will set tight and see what happens.

And I finally got some decent pictures!

Such a nice sculpture......let's take a closer look!

This bird is made out of trash!

The artist put his heart and sole into it ;)

Good morning from Eloy, AZ

Good morning!  Now if you all open up your maps, Eloy is less than two hours from Phoenix so that will tell you how my day went yesterday!

We were in the truck, ready to roll at 6 AM.  I was expected to pick up that load in Buckeye at 6:30 AM.  Planning stated that it was only 31 miles away from Yuma.  Now look at those maps again fellow truckers as Buckeye is 150 miles away from Yuma.  My first day back to work and they are already setting me up for failure!

I arrived at 9 AM and found my trailer, with no registration and 2 bad tires!  I have only 10.5 hours total to get this load to the drop and at this moment, it is down to 7.5.  It is not going to happen now!  I was instructed to head to the Phoenix terminal for repairs which really caused a pissing match with dispatch, who of course, blamed all these delays on little ole me.

We arrived at 12:00 in Phoenix, took a nice long walk, a nice little nap, and a shower before our truck was ready at 5 PM.  This load will not be on time for sure!

Due to rush hour traffic, it took 45 minutes to get out of the city and we stopped here for the night.  They did not swap out the load so I am taking it to El Paso, 12 hours late.

On that note, get in the truck, it is time to hit the road!

Rise and shine at 5 AM!

Yuppers, my dear truckers, our little vacation is over!  We hit the road at 6 AM to pick up a load in Buckeye and deliver to El Paso.  Now if you remember, the last time we were in Yuma they had a load for me in Buckeye which is only 3 hours away.  They wanted me to take that 10 hour break after only working 5 hours so I could deliver at 4 AM.  All I can say.......NOT!  If they try that same stunt again, they can expect the same response......SWAP me OUT!

We had a good weekend with Mom!  We did a little shopping, a little eating, a little of this and a little of that........and a lot of my hair!  I decided I needed a serious trim as my hair just continues to get as rough as straw the longer I am on the road.  Between harsh water conditions and that one bad color treatment, the softness that I love has been as elusive as the rich truck driver that I so want to meet ;)

Well, it is was to go to shoulder length but the stylist must have lost track of what her right hand was doing and 3 years of hair was snipped away.  It is all the same length and looks a little like Sharon Osbborne's hair style.  It will take a bit to get use to and style but at long last.......it is soft and shiny!

And I got my nails done.......yeehaw!

OHHHH.......I applied for the oil fields in ND to only have their website crash during the application process.  Dang nab it!  I will contact a recruiter tomorrow to see what they did receive.  I did talk to Marie today, she is tired but hanging in there, which is a good sign for me, so far.  I still might not have all the experience required and the lack of endorsements might be my down fall.  But, I did promise to apply and we will see what happens!
