I finally got a load yesterday, an empty trailer to take 800 miles from El Paso to Shreveport, Louisiana. It has been so long since I drove that I pushed myself and we are just 99 miles from our drop and we will be there two hours early. It felt good to be back behind a MOVING wheel! Besides, after all that walking.....I could do some more as we were both stiff from sitting so much today.
It appears we will be picking up giant rolls of paper (one per pallet) and heading to Indiana. That is all I know at the moment. We are leaving the southern warm temps and heading north......gads, Gonja might regret that he started shedding again.
My first "dang nab it" in 2012! My new stove that I have only used twice.....died! We stopped at the TA to swap out for a new one and guess what truckers, this one had to shut itself off via overheating because the thermostat is broken! I got a hot meal but it was a tricky.......and glad this unit has an over heat over ride. We will be swapping again at the next TA or Petro we drive by. The third time is a charm!
I will be contacting Lori tomorrow about down pay for my two days of breakdown and two days of NOTHING. Let's hope she does me right!
Oh by the way! Vern called me, my instructor from driving school. He is a little behind on my blog but must have read about my last little bit of depression and called me. Of course, by this time I was feeling just fine but it was sweet knowing that he and others at the school still think and worry about me. You guys are AWESOME! I was also informed that I might have a teaching job waiting for me if I get another year of driving under my belt as it appears someone might be ready to retire by then. Game on! Even if I have to take his lovely wife out behind the shop so we can see things "eye to eye" LOL! Hugs to both of you and thank you for being you! I want the job........I think I would be good at it too!
That being said.........let's see if I can make it to 2013 first! Sweet dreams.......see you in the morning.
