Viva Las Canada!

We have a load of catalogs heading north.  I will be out of contact in two days so you will still be hearing from me before then.  We just showered, ate breakfast, and are ready to scale and hit the road.  Later virtual truckers!

Babysitting did pay off.....to my favor!

Good things happen to those that wait!  We were not able to get that load in early but I was up and running at 6 AM, had the truck washed by 7:30 AM and back to the truck stop with the killer wireless speed.  It has been a warm morning but over casted so I cleaned the truck and took Gonja for a walk.  When we returned, I met up with another company driver and we visited a bit.  He had some valuable information for me in regards to this bloody heat and let us just say, we won't be sweating it out!  :)

I am off to watch a movie until 1:30 and we are off to get rid of this load.  Stay cool!

Babysitting another load.....dang nab it!

Yuppers, this load that I picked up at 6 AM and drove 330 miles for was turned around as they won't take the load until 3 PM tomorrow!  How do you make money when you sit!  You don't.  I plan on calling the receiving supervisor first thing in the morning to see if I can get unloaded early.  If not, I will still start my clock at 6 AM and get the truck washed.

You know, that local job is sounding better each day even though I will really miss driving the 48.  And.....we are idling!  I spent too much money trying to stay cool for the past two days, it is the company's turn as a truck stop with running trucks gets too damn hot when the temps are high.

Check in with you all later!

And thank you James for the article and the job posting!

Seattle, my tropical paradise!

Gads, Gonja had me up at 6 AM for his morning walk and it was HOT at 84 degrees with 82 percent humidity.  I decided since I paid GOOD money for this room where Gonja and I aren't tripping over each, we are going to stay in it until 4:30 AM tomorrow.  End of discussion!

And.......lessoned learned, walk around the mall instead of inside it.  You save your waistline as well as your checking account.  My good sense tip of the day!

That being said, I am going to get caught up on a few of my  favorite shows and watch movies all day long as tomorrow, the world of the pampered queen gets shattered when the truck starts up and the credit card bill hits the mailbox.  Be safe out there!

The last distribution center I told you about!

This could be an ad pic for the hotel  :)  The room is HUGE

Gotta love plastic money!

Just found out that I am expected to take a 34 hour break in a truck that I can't idle in heat that is unbearable when you can't hide from it.  I dropped my trailer at the truck stop with approval, and bobtailed 4 miles to a hotel that allows pets.  I am paying for it and can't use the pool  :(  left the swimsuit at home but the king bed, the AC, fridge, microwave and seeing Gonja sleeping in comfort as well as myself later tonight, worth it!

I talked to logs and found out that if I log out of the truck just before my 14 hours run out today, I will start my 34 hour break.  I will not drive nights so this works out great!  I will log out at 7 tonight and 34 hours later, it will be 5 AM and I start a new week.  So we are here for two nights.  I will drive to Walmart for supplie just before the clock is over and then rest, probably spending more than I make in a day for each day away from the truck, oh well!

Tomorrow morning might be cool enough to walk around and see things.........later!

Good morning from Scott City, Missouri!

We dropped the load early at 6 AM and was ready to do nothing by 7 AM as I was down to two hours on my 70 hour clock.  I haven’t heard a word from fleet so I returned to the truck stop, loaded the cooler with ice (that cab is going to get warm), took Gonja for a swim (he is now tethered to the trailer in the field with his bed and a gallon of water) and I am waiting for my steak and eggs while washing laundry.
The distribution center we went to today was kewl!  They dug out a little valley into a hill and build three very large distribution centers into it!  The loading docks were perfect to backing and I was quite impressed with the architect and the design.  I was in and out so quickly.  Also, it was nice to see two other female drivers at this location, those odds don’t happen often!
As for the field in which we parked, parking lots get so hot with all those big rigs running and it is not an ideal location to keep a dog outside.  This is a big place and I just parked in the very back on a mixture of weeds and grass.  There is a nice breeze with a sweet aroma of livestock that the previous driver left behind that will tease and torment Gonja!  I parked facing east so by afternoon, the sun will be at our back.  It is suppose to reach 98 degrees today with humidity of 86 percent…….augh!
I will spend the majority of today inside and then mid afternoon, spend time with the lab at the river edge.  I told fleet I would be ready for a load at 5 AM depending on what hours I gain at midnight.  Stay inside…….it is going to be nasty today!

And some lucky girl or boy will be wearing Matt's lovely locks!  He still doesn't look over 25!

Good evening from somewhere south of St Louis by 100 miles!

All my loads since my return to work have been late and dang nab it that has to change!  This particular load was already late when I picked it up, had to deal with all the back country driving due to the flood damage that is still in repair (I-29) and it got dropped this afternoon, not this morning.  I have been reprimanded for idling too long as my current time of it is up to 51%!  I was told to bring it down to 22% which does not compute as I can idle 10 hours a day, when in bed.  By my calculations, that would be 40%......who does the math in this company!
It has been a hot and humid day!  Woke up this morning somewhere in farm country with the outside of the truck looking like it had been rained on and it didn’t rain!  We drove to our drop that is due at 7:30 AM (I will be there at 5:30 AM) so I could idle my TEN hours.  I showered just a lil bit earlier, took Gonja for a short walk and we were both panting from the heat and humidity when we got back to the truck.
Not much more to say EXCEPT, Brian got a job with a local Seattle company so he is QUITTING!  In full honesty, I might not be far behind.  I love seeing the country but the lil pay, the long hours and now, the hot truck while I am paying dog rent…….it is really starting to piss me off.  I would love to see all the terminal branches without AC in 100 degree temps and see how they like it!  Off to the diner so I can update you all.  Sweet and cool dreams J
And Matt……..I can’t log on the internet under my user name.  Any ideas?
I was so tickled to get the windmill in this pick!

I finally got a good shot of the arch!
